Build Mode

Build Mode replaces node repositioning with a fast topology-building gesture. A drag can connect two existing streams or create and connect a new stream.

When to use

Use this page while editing or reviewing the graph in the designer.

Behavior

  • Enable the pencil-and-ruler button. Node dragging is disabled and the cursor changes to a crosshair.
  • Click a node without dragging to select it.
  • Drag from a node to an empty point. Select a transformation in the popup menu; the designer creates it to the right and connects the original node to the new downstream stream.
  • Drag from one node onto another valid node. The green link indicator confirms that the hovered target is accepted.
  • Drag empty canvas space to pan. The mouse wheel continues to control the viewport.

Configuration example

Enable Build Mode -> drag a source to empty canvas -> choose Map.
